Learning through Mistakes
Some say when you make a mistake you are failing. Personally I think a mistake helps you learn. You learn what to do or not to do through a mistake. Everyone makes a mistake . My mom always told me “it is not the mistake that matters it’s what you learn from that mistake that matters.” (McClelland)
When I was in eighth grade I made mistake of missing a lot of school. Of course most were because I was sick or hurt my back. But when I started feeling better I still didn’t go to school because I felt like I was so far behind. Instead of going to school and try to catch up I would sit at home. I told myself that I was going to stay home a try catching up on all of my work but I never did. I was just lying to myself. Lying to myself got me nowhere.
I think that is probably one of my biggest mistakes in life so far. From those mistakes I did learn a lot of things. I learn that avoiding a problem will never solve the problem. In order to solve the problem I needed to stop lying to myself. I needed to step up and take responsibility for my actions. I also learn that when I start falling behind or need help, I have to ask. Sitting there doing nothing is not an opinion. Has anyone else had a point in their life where they realize they need to step up and take responsibility for their actions? What have you learn from your mistakes? What mistakes have you made?
