What is the Point in Learning
Is there really a point in learning? Are the things we learn in high school important? We as high schools are most likely never going to did to know who the president was in 1965. Unless a person chooses to become a history teacher that fact is never going to be needed again. Many will learn something just to pass a class, to get that good grade. In high school the whole goal, for many, is to get into a good college. Many say there is absolutely no point in learning useless stuff that is never going to help me in my career path.
I think school should start teaching about things that students are going to need in the future. Maybe how to manage money, how to file taxes, how to balance a checkbook, how to apply for a job, etc. Most people in the world do not know how to manage there money. Even having two or three classes that teach things like managing money or filing tax would lessen the number of people who become poor and file for bankruptcy. Let's stop learning about the sin(30) and start learning about important things that will help us in the future. (Click on this link to learn more about the money management problems in the U. How do you feel about the things we learn? Are they really going to help you down to road? What can schools do better to help prepare us for the real world?
